It participates as a solvent in the synthesis of deuteriotris[bis(trimethylsilyl)amido]thorium and deuteriotris[bis(trimethylsiiyl)amido]uranium. Dynamic NMR spectroscopic study of ¹⁵N,¹⁵N′-dipentadeuterophenylformamidine (DPFA) has been studied in THF-d₈.
