General description
Triethyl amine (TEA) is an aliphatic tertiary amine.
Application
Triethylamine has been used to bind the n-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) group with the amino-treated tip surface. It has also been used as a basic catalyst for acylation.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Triethylamine (TEA) may play a dual role as a base and a solubilizing agent for promoting the reaction in toluene and TEA.
Triethylamine, a mobile-phase modifier, is used in the reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) separation of acidic, basic, and neutral molecules. It improves the resolution of amino acids and amino acids amides by suppressing the tailing and the stability of drugs and other compounds.
