Optitherm™ blocks provide a SAFE and cost effective solution for replacing your existing oil baths and heating mantles. The innovative PTFE shield on the unit reduces the exterior exposed surface temperature by as much as 100°C. For example, the PTFE shield would be approximately 80°C on a 100mL flask that is heated to 180°C. Three different OptiTherm™ blocks are available. The OPT100 is used for 100mL round bottom flasks; the OPT500 is used for 500mL round bottom flask and the OPT1000 is used for 1000mL round bottom flasks. Each block can be used with other corresponding inserts: See the chart above. The flask inserts are color coded for easy identification.
