Cell Line Description

Established from a biopsy of a normal 56 year old male. The cells have been used in radiation survival studies. EBV-transformed lymphocytes designated LB185 (Sigma Catalogue number. 98062318) have been isolated from the same individual. This has been confirmed by STR profiling at ECACC.

Culture Medium

EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 15% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 3-5x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO₂; 37°C.
