YT media formulations are optimized for the growth and maintenance of M13 phage or other filamentous ssDNA bacteriophages. Molecular Biology Certified Provides nitrogen and growth factors optimized for the growth of recombinant E. coli strains Allows bacteriophage to reproduce in large quanitities without exhausting the host cell Reagents are tested and chosen for their ability to promote optimum growth of Escherichia coli when combined in 2xYT Broth formulations. Chosen reagents are combined in the accurate proportions and thoroughly blended for a uniform distribution. A sample of the blended formulation was used to prepare the liquid. The combinations were mixed to dissolve components and then autoclaved at 121°C for 15 minutes.
