For routine pressing of abrasive materials, SPEX SamplePrep offers 31 mm, 35 mm and 40 mm tungsten carbide pellets which can be substituted for polished steel pellets. Tungsten carbide pellets are much harder than steel, but more brittle, and are not guaranteed against breakage. All replacement pellets are sold in pairs.
