Cell Line Description
Derivative of L929 selected in azaguanine (3μg/ml). Partially resistant to azaguanine. A9 may be heterozygous for the ability to synthesise active inosinic acid phosphorylase.

Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) or DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1-5x10,000/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
