Anaerobic Tryptone Soya Agar is recommended for screening anaerobes in cosmetic products such as talcum powder. Anaerobic microorganisms are constituents of the normal bacterial flora of human and animal organisms. During the past few years the importance of anaerobic microorganisms as pathogenic agents responsible for infectious diseases and the role they play in the microbial spoilage of food, cosmetics and water has been better appreciated.
