Biochem/physiol Actions
CD14 (cluster of differentiation 14) is a human gene that plays an important role in the detection of inflammatory pathogens and in the ensuing signaling of the innate immune response. It also plays an important role in recognizing tuberculosis (TB) disease and it can be used as a potential biomarker for predicting the prognosis of breast invasive ductal carcinoma with LN+ER/PR-Her2+. It is also associated with asthma, croup and allergy. The monocyte CD14 is linked to the plasma membrane by a phosphatidylinositol phospholipid.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.
