ANTI-HPK1 ANTIBODY (C005B-241540)

Hematopoietic progenitor kinase 1 (HPK1), otherwise known as MEKKK 1 and MAP4K1, is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the Ste20 (Sterile-20) family. It is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells and is involved in sigaling pathways

Description

General description

Hematopoietic progenitor kinase 1 (HPK1), otherwise known as MEKKK 1 and MAP4K1, is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the Ste20 (Sterile-20) family. It is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells and is involved in sigaling pathways requiring MAP kinase activation; HPK1 directly upstream of MEKK1. HPK1 forms signaling complexes with a number of adaptor proteins including Nck, SLP-76, and Grb2 family of proteins; these proteins may facilitate the tethering of HPK1 to membrane receptors such as the epidermal growth factor receptor. However, HPK1 may also interact with adaptor proteins to induce transcription. For example, interaction with CRKL, and Crk adaptor proteins activates the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) pathway leading to gene expression. HPK1 may mediate cell growth, cytokine signaling, and cell death.

Specificity

Other homologies: Mouse and Rat (86% sequence homoloogy).

This antibody recognizes HPK1 at the N-terminus.

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human HPK1.

Application

Anti-HPK1 Antibody detects level of HPK1 & has been published & validated for use in Western Blotting, IHC(P).

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected HPK1 in human tonsil tissue.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in Raji cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected HPK1 on 10 µg of Raji cell lysate.

Target description

~97kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight is 91 kDa, however HPK1 has been shown as a ~97 kDa band in western blots. (Hu, M., et al. (1996). Genes Dev. 10:2251-2264.)
