Biochem/physiol Actions

TOR1B (Torsin-1B) gene encodes a member of the AAA family of adenosine triphosphatases. It is highly expressed in the central nervous system and may be involved in synaptic functioning. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 9q34, a region linked to torsion dystonia, an autosomal dominant inherited disorder.
