Ascorbate Oxidase is an enzyme belonging to the family of oxidoreductases that catalyzes the reaction: Ascorbic acid + 1/2 O2 ascorbate oxidase > Dehydroascorbic acid + H2O. Ascorbate Oxidase is useful for enzymatic determination of ascorbic acid and for eliminating the interference of ascorbic acid in clinical analysis. One unit will oxidize 1.0 µmole of L-ascorbate to dehydroascorbate per minute at pH 5.6 and 20°C.
