Cell Line Description

The monoclonal antibody BC9 detects bovine tumour necrosis factor (TNF) in a radioimmunoassay with a detection limit of 24 pg/ml. Bovine recombinant TNF can be neutralised in vitro by addition of BC9. Cytotoxic assays showed a neutralising effect using L929 and WEHI 164 clone 13 cells.

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS)

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 5-6x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO₂; 37°C.
