It is used in media for example MacConkey Agar/Broth, SS Agar, VRBA, Fluid Tetrathionate Medium, etc. Application: For use in Bacteriological Culture Media as Selective inhibitory Agent Appearance: Yellow to brownish yellow homogenous free flowing powder Solubility: Freely soluble in distilled/purified water Clarity: 1% w/v aqueous solution is clear and free from extraneous matter Reaction: Reaction of 1% w/v aqueous solution at 25oC Cultural response: Cultural response observed after an incubation at 35-37oC for 18-24 hours by preparing MaConkey Agar (M081) using Bile salts as an ingredient
