Brown and Scott Modified (Twin Pack) is used for confirmation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in swimming pool waters. Milk, peptone, yeast extract, HM peptone B provide all the necessary nutrients mainly nitrogenous for the multiplication of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pseudomonas aeruginosa forms yellowish green colonies on this medium. It is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk. Appearance of powder: Part A : Cream colored, homogeneous, free flowing powder. Part B : Light yellow to yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.5% Agar gel Color and Clarity: Light yellow colored, opalescent gel forms in petri plates Reaction of 2.8% w/v aqueous solution of Part B is pH 7.4 ± 0.2 at 25°C Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35-37°C for 18-24 hours
