Cell Line Description

A 8-bromodeoxybromidine resistant mutant of the rat glioma cell line C6. Found to be tumourigenic in BALB/c nude mice and Wistar rats. Strain rattus norvegicus

Application

Used in the generation of cell hybrids.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 1mM 8-bromodeoxyuridine. The cells can be grown in the absence of bromodeoxyuridine.

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm² using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO₂; 37°C
