Carbon Dioxide (Dissolved), Titrets Titration Cells, Range: 10-100 ppm (Recommended Alternative to Hach Part 143601)
Method Dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) is naturally present as a result of animal respiration, the decay of organic matter, and the decomposition of certain minerals. It is the major source of acidity in unpolluted water samples.
Method Dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) is naturally present as a result of animal respiration, the decay of organic matter, and the decomposition of certain minerals. It is the major source of acidity in unpolluted water samples. Surface waters typically contain less than 10 ppm (mg/L) dissolved CO2, while ground waters, particularly if deep, may contain several hundred ppm (mg/L). The Caustic Titrant with pH Indicator Method References: APHA Standard Methods, 23rd., Method 4500-CO2 C-2004. ASTM D 513-82, Total and Dissolved Carbon Dioxide in Water, Test Method E. CHEMetrics' carbon dioxide test kits employ a sodium hydroxide titrant and phenolphthalein indicator. Results are expressed as ppm (mg/L) CO2. WARNING! This product can expose you to chemicals including phenolphthalein, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer, and methanol, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.
