Surface modification results in enhanced gas sensing properties of the sensors.Diethoxydimethylsilane may be used as a precursor for the synthesis of ultrafine SiC powder.Studies report its use as a precursor for ORMOSIL (Organically modified SILicates) and thin a-SiOxCyHz films. The composite of DEDMS and triethoxymethylsilane can be used to synthesize a liquid precursor resin for the preparation of silicon oxycarbide (SiOC).
