Disinfectant test HiVegTM broth (Staphylococcus Aureus Enrichment HiVegTM broth) is recommended for enrichment of Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcaceae grows luxuriantlly on the media. Peptone and HM infusion provide carbon, nitrogen compounds and other necessary nutrients for the growth of the test organisms. Yeast extract provides vitamins and other trace nutrients. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic equilibrium. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
