EF1A-RFP lentivirus (8x25ul)

TurboRFP is a red (orange) fluorescent protein (ex. 553 and em. 574 nm) derived from sea anemoneEntacmaea quadricolor [Merzlyak et al., 2007]. Possessing high photostability and pH stability, TurboRFP is more than twice brighter than DsRed2. Fast TurboRFP maturation makes it clearly detectable in mammalian cells as early as within 8-10 hrs after transfection. Human elongation factor-1 alpha (EF-1 alpha) is a constitutive promoter of human origin that can be used to drive ectopic gene expression in various in vitro and in vivo contexts. EF-1 alpha (or EF1a) is often useful in conditions where other promoters (such as CMV) have diminished activity or have been silenced (as in embryonic stem cells). This lentivirus expresses TurboRFP under the control of the EF1a promoter.
