Fluid Thioglycollate Medium w/ HiVegTM Extract is recommended for cultivation of anaerobic, microaerophilic and aerobic microorganisms and for sterility testing. Any increase in the oxygen content is indicated by a color change of redox indicator, resazurin to red. The small amount of agar helps in maintaining low redox potential for stabilizing the medium. Fluid Thioglycollate Medium w/ HiVegTM Extract is prepared by using vegetable peptones in place of animal based peptones which make the media free of BSE/TSE risks.
