Fraser HiVegTM broth base is recommended as a primary as well as secondary enrichment medium, for the isolation and enumeration of Listeria monocytogenes from food and animal feeds. Hiveg media used for the detection of Listeria species in food products. It provides optimum conditions for the growth of Listeria. This medium is recommended by ISO for primary and secondary enrichment of Listeria species. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk. Application: For Laboratory Chemicals, Analytical Purpose, Biochemical Analysis Appearance of powder: Light yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder Color and Clarity: Yellow colored, clear solution with slight precipitate. With addition of supplement (FD125I and FD141) fluorescent yellow colored solution forms with slight precipitate Reaction: Reaction of 5.49% w/v aqueous solution is pH 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25 deg C Cultural Response: Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35-37°C for 24-48 hours after addition of Fraser Selective Supplement (FD125I) and Fraser Supplement (FD141)
