Goat IgG Fraction to Mouse Complement C3, 5mL

Product is the lyophilized powder of goat IgG fraction to mouse complement C3 and buffer salts. Background Information Complement component C3 plays a central role in the activation of complement system. Its activation is required for both classical and alternative complement activation pathways. People with C3 deficiency are susceptible to bacterial infection. Applications Goat IgG Fraction to Mouse Complement C3 is used as a precipitating antibody. It gives sharp precipitin lines in immunoelectrophoresis and immunodiffusion techniques. It is also suitable for conjugation with enzymes, radiolabels, fluorochromes or other markers, and for attachment to solid supports for use as an immunoadsorbant. Used as a primary reagent in enzyme immunoassays, fluorescein immunoassays and blot, cell or tissue immunostaining. F(ab')2 fragments are recommended for staining of cells or tissues which contain Fc receptors. Recommended Use Reconstitute product with 5.0 mL of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material. Preparation Method The IgG fraction is prepared from the specific goat antiserum by delipidation, ammonium sulfate fractionation and anion exchange chromatography. The resulting IgG fraction is dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, 0.05% sodium azide added, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized. Analysis Note The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Antibody titer is standardized to an in-house standard by equivalence-point precipitation. Each IgG fraction is tested for purity and specificity at a minimum of 40 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis; No trace of albumin is detected. Antibody activity to other serum proteins is not present.
