Cell Line Origin
Human Caucasian lymphoblastoid, Cockayne syndrome, EBV-transformed
Cell Line Description
Derived from mononuclear cells from the peripheral blood of a 20 year old female. The patient has been diagnosed with Cockayne syndrome complementation group CSB. This multisystem sun-sensitive genetic disorder is associated with a DNA-repair defect after UV irradiation. The cell line LB242 has been established by EBV transformation. Fibroblasts from the same individual are designated CS4BR.
Application
DNA repair deficiency, mutation analysis
Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 4mM Glutamine + 200 μg/ml Sodium Pyruvate (NaPy) + 15% Heat Inactivated (HI-FBS).
Subculture Routine
Maintain cultures between 3-9 x 100,000 cells/ml, dilute every 1-2 days to 3 x 100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2, 37°C. Cells form floating aggregates.
