Human lymphoblastoid, Xeroderma pigmentosum heterozygote, EBV-transformed

Cell Line Description

Established by EBV transformation of mononuclear cells from a peripheral blood sample from a 37 year old female patient. The patient was shown to be heterozygote for Xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group G, a rare, autosomal recessive disease, and is the mother of two children with XP (cell line LB83, Sigma Catalogue number. 98062328 and LB82).

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 4mM Glutamine + 200 μg/ml Sodium Pyruvate (NaPy) + 15% Heat Inactivated (HI-FBS).

Subculture Routine

Maintain cultures between 3-9 x 100,000 cells/ml, dilute every 1-2 days to 3 x 100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO₂, 37°C. Cells form free floating aggregates.
