Cell Line Origin
Human lymphoblastoid, normal, EBV-transformed
Cell Line Description
Derived from mononuclear cells from peripheral blood of a 51 year old normal male. Cells were subsequently transformed with EBV. Fibroblasts designated 149BR (Sigma Catalogue number. 90011807) have been isolated from the same individual . This has been confirmed by STR profiling at ECACC. T cells from the same sample have been used for cellular radiosensitivity studies and cell survival analysis after UV-irradiation.
Application
Mutation studies, Toxicity analysis
Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 + 4mM Glutamine + 200 μg/ml Sodium Pyruvate (NaPy) + 15% Heat Inactivated (HI-FBS).
Subculture Routine
Maintain cultures between 3-9 x 100,000 cells/ml, dilute every 1-2 days to 3 x 100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2, 37°C. Cells form floating aggregates.
