Leifson's Deoxycholate HiVegTM Agar, Modified is recommended for selective isolation and differentiation of Salmonella and Shigella species. It is used for the isolation and maximum recovery of intestinal pathogens and direct sampling of faeces. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
