Letheen HiVeg Agar, 2.5KG

Letheen HiVegTM agar is recommended to determine the phenol coefficient of quaternary ammonium compounds using Escherichia coli or Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538. It is used to neutralize the quaternary ammonium compounds in the testing of germicidal activity. The medium is also recommended for testing of cosmetics. Letheen HiVegTM agar is prepared by using vegetable peptones in place of animal based peptones which make the media free of BSE/TSE risks. Application: For Laboratory Chemicals, Analytical Purpose, Biochemical Analysis Appearance of Powder: Dark yellow colored may have slight lumps Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.5% Agar gel of MV414 Color and Clarity: Light yellow colored, clear to slightly opalescent gel forms in petri plates, clear solution in tubes Reaction: Reaction of 3.2% w/v of MV414 or 2.57% w/v of MV165 aqueous solution is pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C Cultural Response: Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35-37°C for 24 - 48 hours
