This medium is used for maintaining microorganisms, cultivating fastidious organisms by enriching with serum or blood and are also used for purity checking prior to biochemical or serological testing. Nutrient HiVegTM Broth is prepared by completely replacing animal with vegetable peptones to avoid BSE/TSE risks associated with animal peptones. Application: For General Culture Medium or as an Enrichment Medium by the Addition of Blood or Other Biological Fluids Appearance of powder: Yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.5% Agar gel of MV001 Color and Clarity: Light amber colored, clear to slightly opalescent gel forms in petri plates, clear solution in tubes Reaction of 2.8% w/v of MV001 or 1.3% w/v of MV002 aqueous solution is pH 7.4 ± 0.2 at 25°C Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 35 - 37°C for 18 - 48 hours
