Platinum on carbon (5 wt.% loading, matrix activated carbon support) (Pt/C) can be used as a catalyst for a variety of applications, such as:1.hydrosilylation reaction for the production of molecules with silicon-carbon bonds2.direct alcohol fuel cells (DAFCs)3.an electrocatalyst in hydrogen evolution reaction (HER)4.formation of nanocatalyst for polymer electrolyte fuel cells5.hydrogenation of alkenes, alkynes, nitro groups, ketones, and aromatics6.hydrogenolysis of cyclopropanes7.oxidation of alcohols.Pt/C can also be used as an hydrosilylation catalyst.
