It participates in the quantitative precipitation of histones as well as basic compounds present in an acid tissue extract by forming reineckate complexes.Reinecke Salt Monohydrate may be used as a precipitation reagent for the isolation of quaternary ammonium alkaloids (QAAs) in the dried powder of Rhizoma Corydalis. Quantitative analysis of these QAAs was conducted by MALDI-MS (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization - Mass Spectrometry).
