ZellShield® is a ready-to-use agent for protecting cell cultures from a broad range of common contaminants such as bacteria, fungi, yeast and mycoplasma. The protective effect is based on a combination of novel antibiotics without significant side effects. The application of conventional antibiotics such as penicillin, streptomycin, nystatin etc. is not necessary. ZellShield® can be used routinely as additive directly to the medium to safeguard your cell culture. No cell toxicity Up to date, no cytotoxic effect on various cell lines treated has been reported if used as described. Specificity ZellShield® is active against most intracellular and extracellular growing gram negative and gram positive bacteria, mycoplasma, protozoon, fungi and yeast. Easy to use Simply add ZellShield® directly to a freshly prepared cell culture or premix with the cell culture medium. Stability The reagent is stable and active during typical incubation periods and conditions. Low Resistance Risk Carefully selected antimicrobials show an extremely low resistance bias. Their combined activity reduces the probability for the survival of resistant mutants. Recommended Use / Scope Applicable in research and industry for cell cultures only.
